• Architecture balancing historical identity and contemporary sleek-ness
• Durable bathroom solutions from Duravit for the demands of a busy hotel
For decades a familiar part of the Munich skyline and once a meeting point for artists, businesspeople, and travelers, the venerable Koenigshof hotel can look back over a storied past – as it now reveals its new look. The new building at the historical site combines architectural heritage with contemporary architecture. The neatly structured façade and the open atrium that looks on to the vibrant Stachus square generate a unique atmosphere. Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos de-veloped the architectural concept that draws on the history of the site and inte-grates modern elements. Clear lines, intelligent material selection, and a harmo-nized spatial concept define the new aesthetic. The Munich-based firm Landau + Kindelbacher realized the interior design and created a consistent design lan-guage by blending warm colors, quality textiles, and artworks.
Clarity through minimalism
The bathrooms reflect the clear design language of the hotel. Vero Air built-in washbasins in elegant marble consoles set striking accents and offer impressive user comfort. The time-honored wall-mounted toilets of the Starck 3 series round off the concept with their enduring aesthetic and robust quality. In the suites, free-standing bathtubs of from the Luv range create unique moments of wellbeing. Their velvety-matt surface made from DuroCast combines a sensual feel with high aesthetic standards and underpins the luxurious ambience of the rooms.
Functional solutions for the hotel business
Comfort and functionality take center-stage at the Koenigshof. The bathroom equipment from Duravit is equal to the demanding requirements of the hotel in-dustry: durable materials, easy-to-clean surfaces, and a clear design language blend seamlessly into the overall aesthetic. This produces a harmonious bath-room concept that not only impresses guests, but also stands the test of time.
