A home for a greater quality of life: In the idyllic town of Elzach, the organization Lebenshilfe im Kinzig- und Elztal e.V. runs an accessible residential center as a safe and comfortable place for people with disabilities to live. Since February 2024, the residents have enjoyed a home that both caters to their individual needs and also offers comprehensive support and advice. The residential building has four apartments each with six single bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living and dining area. This creates not only space for active socializing, but also a private space within each resident’s own four walls. Duravit fitted out the new building with high-quality sanitary facilities that are specially tailored to the residents’ needs.


Independence and safety in the bathroom

Each bedroom has its own private bathroom. The accessible sanitary solutions from Duravit are specially designed for people with disabilities and aim to promote independence in everyday life. For instance, the space created by the wheelchair-accessible washbasins Starck 3 Vital offers convenient use for people with restricted mobility. With its deep projection, the Vital wall-mounted toilet from the Architec range, which also features HygieneGlaze, raises the bar in terms of hygiene and enables greater accessibility.


Sheltered living, freedom of movement

The large, floor-to-ceiling windows that let plenty of daylight into the private rooms and common areas are a striking feature of the contemporary building. Each apartment has a balcony or terrace that provides direct access to nature and extends the living space to the area outside. The bedrooms are connected by broad corridors fitted with handrails to guarantee freedom of movement.
Warm wooden floors create a friendly, inviting atmosphere for a pleasant place to live.
